About Us
Grain (ɡrān) - wheat or any other cultivated cereal crop used as food
Grain (ɡrān) - the alignment, texture and appearance of wood fibres
The basic premise behind Grain Cutting boards is to support the Community Food Share in their efforts towards eliminating food insecurity in Colorado, all through sustainable and socially responsible practices. The way we accomplish this is by donating a quarter of our profits to the Community Food Share and making our cutting boards from the high quality scraps of local wood shops (See the Social Responsibility tab). The name Grain was the one that stuck because the word relates to both of our interests: woodworking and food. Pretty simple.

I am a first year architecture student at the University of Arizona but call Broomfield home. Woodworking was an interest I picked up working in a cabinet shop as a summer job. I have been a volunteer at the Community Food Share since middle school and have developed a massive appreciation for the service they provide to the people of Colorado. Outside of cutting boards I enjoy mountain biking and spending time in the weightroom, as well as painting, drawing, and collecting vinyl.
